Video Optimizer is a tool for reducing video file sizes and removing audio tracks. All files are processed locally on your device, and the original videos remain unchanged.

Use Video Optimizer to prepare clips for the App Store, a website, or a mobile app, reduce file sizes, and download ready-to-use versions without processing them in a separate application.

The Video Optimizer screen has several main areas:

• processing options — specify whether the audio track should be removed; compression runs automatically;
• file upload area — drag one or more videos here;
• results summary — shows the number of processed files, their total size, and the space saved;
• video list — contains information about each file, its status, and available actions;
• top toolbar — download the processed files or clear the current list.

Optimization starts after you add a video. You do not need to upload files to a server or open a separate application.

Drag files into the upload area or select them on your device. You can add several videos at once and process them in one queue.

The following information is shown for each file:

• file name;
• original file size;
• processing status;
• optimized file size;
• savings as a percentage.

The current status appears directly in the list while a video is being processed. You can download completed files individually without waiting for the entire queue to finish.

ASO.dev reduces the file size while keeping the video suitable for viewing and further use. Smaller files are easier to store, share, and upload.

The result depends on the source video. If a file has already been optimized, the savings might be small. The difference is usually more noticeable with large source files.

The optimized version is created as a separate file. The original file is not renamed or overwritten.

Enable Remove audio track if the processed video should have no sound.

This option is useful for:

• app interface recordings;
• app previews without narration;
• background videos;
• files with unnecessary or damaged audio;
• videos intended to play without sound.

Only the audio is removed—the video content and image remain unchanged. If music, speech, or sound effects are important, leave the option disabled.

After processing, each video row shows:

• savings as a percentage;
• original and optimized file sizes;
• a download button;
• a button for removing the video from the list.

The summary above the list shows the number of completed videos, their total size, and the overall savings. This makes it easy to evaluate the entire batch without comparing files manually.

To download one optimized video, select the download button in its row.

If you processed several files, select Download All in the results summary or the top toolbar. ASO.dev will prepare the completed videos for a single download.

Downloaded videos are separate copies. The original files remain unchanged on your device.

The refresh button in the top toolbar removes all added videos and processing results from the screen. Files you have already downloaded remain on your device.

Clearing the list does not change or delete the original videos.

Video Optimizer can be used before adding an app preview to App Store Connect. A smaller file is faster to transfer, while removing an unnecessary audio track can help avoid audio-related upload errors.

After processing, add the video to Bulk Video and Screenshot Upload, select a poster frame, arrange the media, and save the changes to App Store Connect.
