App Store Category Rankings: Track Top Charts History

The Category Ranking feature in ASO.dev helps you track how any application ranks across different categories, countries, and platforms in both real-time and historically.

By Date Tab

The By Date tab offers a snapshot of selected app’s current rankings in selected categories for specific date.
You can filter rankings by individual countries or choose to see data for all countries by selecting the “All” option in the country selector.

The information is presented in a card format, displaying the following:

  • Ranking Position: Indicates selected app’s position in the category.
  • Charts Category: Top or New.
  • App Type: Shows whether selected app is listed as Free, Paid, or Grossing.
  • Platform: Covers various platforms like iOS, iPadOS, macOS, visionOS, watchOS, and Apple TV.
  • App Category: Specifies the category in which selected app is being ranked (e.g., Games, Productivity).

History Tab

The History tab allows you to analyze selected app’s ranking trends over time.
There are two charting options available:

  1. By Country: This chart consolidates all category rankings within a single country, displaying each category’s ranking as a different color on the same chart.
    This view makes it easy to track how selected app performs across multiple categories in one region.

  2. Across All Countries: This option generates individual charts for each category and ranking type (Top/New, Free/Grossing/Paid, iOS/macOS/watchOS/AppleTV/visionOS), with lines representing different countries.
    This view helps you compare performance across countries for a specific category.
