ASO.dev vs AppTweak in 2026: Intelligence or ASO Execution

We are the ASO.dev team, and this page compares our own product with AppTweak. That is why we show the situations where AppTweak is stronger. We verified changeable facts against official sources on the date shown below; when something could not be confirmed, we mark it as unknown instead of presenting it as a missing feature.

Verified August 2, 2026. Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT.

AppTweak is stronger for Android ASO, global and enterprise intelligence, Market Intelligence, Reporting Studio, and mature server-side review automation. ASO.dev is stronger when one specialist needs to expand App Store research without object-based caps and carry a hypothesis through localization, App Store Connect, release, and review replies. Using both makes sense when AppTweak’s unique market or predictive signals are needed only for selected apps while the broader portfolio is more economical to track and execute in ASO.dev.

AppTweak is a mature global intelligence layer. Its ASO Intelligence covers both the App Store and Google Play, while its pricing page states 30M+ keywords and 100+ countries. ASO.dev does not currently offer comparable Google Play keyword intelligence.

AppTweak is also stronger in several other areas:

  • Reporting Studio combines AppTweak data, store consoles, Apple Ads, and MMP sources; Market Intelligence provides download and revenue estimates plus market share. We do not have an equivalent MMP and incrementality reporting layer or a full Market Intelligence counterpart.
  • Self-serve plans list 6, 12, or 24 months of headline history; the actual depth depends on the metric. ASO Agent, enterprise support, and consulting also have no direct ASO.dev equivalent.
  • App Reviews Manager is a mature review helpdesk with sentiment and topics, Reviews Agent, templates, bulk replies, Slack/Zendesk/Salesforce integrations, and team KPIs. Reply Automation can send rule-based replies without manual approval, although it is available only on Enterprise.

ASO.dev has less ready-made reputation analytics, fewer templates and routing integrations, and no server-side autonomous event-triggered reply engine. Those are genuine reasons to choose AppTweak when review support is a dedicated function for a large team.

If you are evaluating an AppTweak alternative for App Store-heavy work, the central difference starts with the billing unit. We sell a workspace for an ASO specialist, not a package of 500 keywords. You cannot know in advance whether the 501st keyword, the 11th app, or one more competitor will produce the useful hypothesis. In core ASO.dev, the primary subscription unit is therefore the person, not the data row: apps, keyword lists, and manual competitor research do not increase the price of one seat.

This does not mean “everything is unlimited.” Startup includes 30 days of history; Pro adds exports, CPP, App Clash, Changelog, and extended trends; Marketing adds Apple Ads. Tasks, Subscriptions, SOV, and the Developer API have operational limits. For example, the automated competitor search returns up to 50 results on Startup and up to 250 on Pro and Marketing. Our principle is to remove limits where they would narrow research and state them clearly where frequency or computation creates the cost.

ASO.dev is also more than a keyword tracker with an editor. The current product map contains about 70 feature rows across eight workflow groups. The research layer includes 19 specialized ASO tools plus Tasks, Subscriptions, and Notifications. Keywords, Spy, and Keyword Explorer cover semantics; App Competitors, App Overview, and App Clash cover competition and markets; Changelog, Detector, and SAP Detector cover history and diagnostics. Store editors, TestFlight, and Apple Developer form a separate execution layer rather than an inflated tool count.

The workload is one specialist, 10 active apps, up to five localizations or storefronts per app, five competitors per app, regular metadata and release updates, and review replies. Light tracking is 10 × 50 = 500; Full is 10 × 200 = 2,000 app-keyword pairs in one storefront per app.

AppTweak helps a team choose a direction with local keyword data, localization insights, creative intelligence, competitor A/B tests, and app-page preview. Essential, Grow, and Scale include 500, 1,500, and 3,000 tracked keywords; 5, 10, and 15 followed apps; and the same number of competitors per app. Unlimited Live Keyword Searches does not remove the tracked-keyword caps.

In ASO.dev, Tasks start competitor and organic-keyword discovery with one click. Selected terms go into a Keyword List, and rankings are checked every four hours. In the main large ASO tables, the server prepares the result and the desktop client loads it into one virtualized working view; filtering, sorting, selection, and export operate on that loaded dataset. You do not have to assemble a file manually from pages of 50 or 100 rows. This does not mean pagination never exists: external App Store and Google Play review APIs and TestFlight can still load subsequent pages.

Reviews: monitoring, analysis, and a real reply

Section titled “Reviews: monitoring, analysis, and a real reply”

In ASO.dev, we do not stop at analysis. The loop is monitoring/webhook → CSV or MCP → AI draft → confirmed submission → feature hypothesis.

A Subscription monitors new reviews for an app × country × event combination. The result remains in Notifications; push and webhook delivery take it further, with webhooks available on Pro and Marketing. The interface filters and translates reviews and shows reply status.

A single AI reply uses a custom prompt and the selected model. A bulk run filters by period, status, and rating and then replies to the selected group sequentially. This is user-triggered batch automation, not an always-on bot; with BYOK, the AI provider charges for the tokens.

The UI submits replies through an App Store Connect API key or a Google Play Console service account with reply permission. The local MCP works with the current review and loaded list: it prepares, submits, and edits replies, and can also file a complaint for App Store reviews. Every write action requires approval and confirmApply=true. To analyze the full archive, a Task exports CSV for selected countries; MCP does not pretend to have access to the entire archive.

Store-key architectureStore consoles connect to AppTweak; credentials are encrypted and storedCredentials stay in the device’s Secure Storage; Apple/Google requests go directly from the device or through a user proxy

This is not a zero-risk promise. ASO.dev is desktop-first: the client runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux, store credentials remain in the device’s Secure Storage, and users can revoke them. Local control rules out our own background server-side reply autopilot; AppTweak’s server-side model supports automation, collaboration, and integrations.

AI pipeline: 20,000+ rows and MCP are not the same thing

Section titled “AI pipeline: 20,000+ rows and MCP are not the same thing”

AppTweak has an official hosted MCP server; data calls require X-Apptweak-Key. It is a gateway to the public API, not a store-execution layer. The API rules bill data requests and set a rate limit of 60 requests per 10 seconds; no separate MCP quota is published. Tokens for the external AI client are billed separately.

Keyword Suggestions by App accepts up to five apps in one country/language/device configuration and returns JSON in pages of 500 rows with offset. If the context actually contains 20,000 suggestions, retrieving them takes 40 pages and at least 20,040 credits. A union, intersection, or gap across several apps has to be calculated in your own code; we could not confirm an official one-click UI export of 20,000+ rows.

ASO.dev’s local MCP provides Apple and Google editor context and confirmed actions; bulk keywords and Developer API credits are separate from it. For 20,000+ rows on Pro, our route is Excel/CSV export → analysis in Codex, ChatGPT, or Claude → MCP for metadata and localization. The Organic Task is capped at 20,000 rows. The Developer API is a separate closed alpha for scheduled and server-to-server workflows, with credits and contracts or limits that may change.

Days 6–22: deploy the hypothesis across 50 localizations

Section titled “Days 6–22: deploy the hypothesis across 50 localizations”

Both products help find an idea. ASO.dev also provides local research, creatives, and competitor-test context through App Overview, App Clash, and App Competitors. The difference begins after the hypothesis is selected: AppTweak helps find a direction; we help deploy it across 50 supported App Store localizations and carry it into App Store Connect.

The Metadata Editor translates, edits, and validates text in bulk. The free Figma plugin moves text through JSON/ZIP and updates frames while preserving Auto Layout, Variables, and RTL. Folder import places screenshots and video by locale and device, validates the media, saves progress, and retries only the failed portion.

The same flow works for the default product page, CPP, and PPO. On Pro and Marketing, CPP copies localizations, screenshots, and promo text; Apple allows up to 70 CPPs. PPO supports up to three treatments and submission to App Review. The team still reviews translations and visuals and explicitly chooses Save or Submit; PPO requires an approved version, and icon variants must be included in the binary. We did not find official AppTweak documentation confirming an equivalent write/publish flow for 50 localizations. That remains unknown, not proof that the feature does not exist.

In ASO.dev, the specialist selects an uploaded build, submits metadata for review, and releases the approved version; Xcode, Fastlane, or CI still uploads the binary. The Pricing Editor manages IAPs and subscriptions. After release, the team compares conversion, revenue, and rank against the baseline. AppTweak is stronger for MMP attribution, market estimates, and cross-source reporting.

Marketing adds a separate Apple Ads Search Results layer and is not part of the Pro TCO: keyword → advertisers/media and app → ad keywords/media, Ads 1 + Ads 2, and up to 5,000 related queries for a selected creative or CPP. A user SOV subscription observes 200 keyword × country combinations roughly every seven minutes; a separate pool of about 45,000 queries with average SAP 60+ runs on a different cadence. SAP is checked daily through the Apple API. The history and timestamp of our checks helped us become one of the first teams to publicly document a 77.4% drop in US keywords with SAP > 5. This demonstrates observability, not real-time data or performance attribution.

Scenario, one specialistASO.devAppTweak
1 app, first ASO cycleStartup $348/year; Pro $828/year for export/CPP/historyEssential $665/year; plus Reviews Small $990/year if direct replies are needed
10 apps, Light 500 pairs + repliesPro $828/yearGrow $3,590 + Reviews Small $990 = $4,580/year
10 apps, Full 2,000 pairs + repliesPro $828/yearScale $6,590 + Reviews Small $990 = $7,580/year
50 apps / agency portfolioPro $828/year per seat; additional team members increase TCOASO Intelligence requires an Enterprise quote; Reviews starts at $990/year, while automation requires an Enterprise quote

Essential does not cover 10 followed apps; Grow covers 10 apps and 1,500 keywords, while Scale covers 15 apps and 3,000. Reviews Small includes unlimited apps and up to 500 replies per month but not Enterprise automation. If tracking is counted across all five storefronts, Light becomes 2,500 contexts and requires Scale; Full becomes 10,000 and requires an Enterprise quote. AppTweak creates a separate listing for each country/language/device, but its official Help Center does not explain whether every listing counts as a separate followed app, so the final configuration may require a quote.

ASO.dev Pro costs $89 month-to-month or $828/year per seat—about $6.90 per app per month for 10 apps with annual billing. That is an allocation example, not a new unit price. Startup is the honest lower bound when 30 days of history is enough and exports, CPP, and professional workflows are not needed. Marketing costs $1,788/year and is required only for Apple Ads. The TCO of both systems rises with additional people; we do not estimate unpublished Enterprise prices.

A professional stack without a full migration

Section titled “A professional stack without a full migration”

In our experience, ASO teams often compare independent signals. If you are considering a move from AppTweak, a complete migration is not required: first identify which of its datasets are actually unique to your workflow. A cost-conscious, AppTweak-specific workflow looks like this:

  1. Keep AppTweak only for priority apps and markets and for the capability—Android, market/predictive, or enterprise analysis—that is actually available in the selected plan or module.
  2. Take the selected keyword and competitor hypotheses through the available export or move them manually. Paste keyword lists into Keyword List and add competitors to the project.
  3. Use ASO.dev as the operating hub for broad tracking, Tasks and Subscriptions, and metadata/media/review/release execution. It is not a universal connector or an automatic warehouse for AppTweak proprietary metrics.

Does ASO.dev actually submit review replies, or only draft them?

Section titled “Does ASO.dev actually submit review replies, or only draft them?”

It submits them. The UI and local MCP send and edit replies after confirmation; a human starts the bulk UI run rather than an event trigger.

Who pays for AI replies, and does MCP consume API credits?

Section titled “Who pays for AI replies, and does MCP consume API credits?”

ASO.dev’s local MCP does not deduct Developer API credits; the selected model is billed separately. AppTweak data calls use API billing, and no separate MCP quota is published.

How can I build an AI pipeline for 20,000+ keywords without an API call for every row?

Section titled “How can I build an AI pipeline for 20,000+ keywords without an API call for every row?”

On ASO.dev Pro+, the route is Excel/CSV → external AI → local MCP when the source analysis or intersection contains 20,000+ rows. AppTweak officially documents an API with 500 rows per page; we could not confirm a one-click 20,000-row UI export.

If ASO.dev is missing something your workflow needs, suggest an idea or vote, or email hello@aso.dev. A request does not guarantee that the feature will enter the roadmap.

Teams that need the App Store and Google Play equally, as well as market estimates, longer history, MMP reporting, enterprise collaboration, or server-side review-helpdesk automation. It is a strong layer for working across many markets and data sources.

App Store-heavy teams where one specialist needs to research a broad portfolio and then perform the work: localize metadata and screenshots, prepare CPP/PPO, submit a release, and reply to reviews. Seat-based core access is especially useful when the research sample grows faster than the team.

Keep AppTweak on the smallest sufficient plan and scope for the Android, market, or predictive signals you need. Move selected keywords and competitors into ASO.dev for broad tracking, exports, localization, and store execution; we do not promise automatic two-way synchronization of proprietary metrics.

ASO.dev sources include pricing, App Store Reviews, Google Play Reviews, security, MCP, Tasks, and the verified desktop-client/MCP implementation.

Unknowns include MCP-specific quotas and AppTweak’s exact transport, the single-file UI export cap, country-listing accounting, Enterprise TCO, and a write flow for metadata or releases. An unknown is not treated as proof that a feature is absent. We recheck prices, quotas, plan placement, and unknowns at least quarterly; the next review is due no later than November 2, 2026.
