Competitor analysis is a crucial aspect of App Store Optimization (ASO) strategy.
By examining the strategies, performance, and market positioning of competing apps, you can gain valuable insights to inform your own ASO efforts.


Adding Competitors to Your List
Section titled âAdding Competitors to Your Listâ To add a competitor to your list.
To find competitors, you can use the following methods:
- App search: Search for apps by name, publisher, or keyword.
- App Info: You may also like & You may also like: Reverse sections
- Top apps in a category: View the top apps in a category to identify competitors.
You can add competitors to your list through the Competitors screen by clicking the âAddâ button.
You can select multiple competitors from the search results, or enter application links, each on a new line.


Competitor Insights
Section titled âCompetitor InsightsâThe Competitors screen provides an overview of the apps youâve added to your list.
Switch between countries to analyze app data for specific regions.
Export the data to .xlsx for further analysis.
Available only for the Pro and Marketing memberships.
Viewing Competitor App Details
Section titled âViewing Competitor App DetailsâWhen you tap on an app card, you can access a detailed screen showing the key metrics of the competitorâs app for the selected country.

With a single click, you can now reveal even more data across all application cards in the list view â perfect for scanning competitors.
These settings help you get more context directly from the application cards in the list view - no need to open each one:
- In-App Purchases & Subscriptions â Uncover monetization strategies by revealing In-App Purchases (IAPs) and subscriptions directly in the list. Know what they offer, how they price, and how often they update.
- In-App Events â See if competitors are running any in-app events (like promotions or seasonal content) and how they present them in their App Store listing.
- Screenshots â Instantly preview every screenshot from each app. No need to open them one by one. Quickly assess visual style, messaging, and localization.
- Release Date & Last Update â Track how fresh and active an app is. Quickly spot dormant apps or recently updated ones â useful for timing your own updates or launches.
- Rating History â Get a quick overview of how an appâs rating has changed over time. Spot trends, spikes, or drops in ratings that might indicate user satisfaction or issues.
- Keyword Effectiveness - presents a keyword ranking distribution chart (Top 1, Top 5, Top 10, etc.), providing you with a complete overview of the selected appâs ASO effectiveness in every market.
